British Airways Flight Information :
Baggage restrictions and allowances vary according to your seating and destination. All flights allow one piece of carry-on baggage, as well as a laptop-sized bag, handbag, or briefcase on the flight, at no extra charge.
Economy Class Baggage Check :
Economy Class travellers are allowed a maximum of 2 items of checked baggage. Items may not exceed 32 kilograms per piece. The dimensions may not exceed 90 x 75 x 43 cm per piece.
Business and First Class Baggage Check :
For those travelling Business Class and First Class, you are allowed 3 items of checked baggage. Items may not exceed 32 kilograms per piece. Dimensions may not be more than 90 x 75 x 43 cm per piece.
Special Items :
British Airways allows passengers to travel with some non-traditional travelling items. Items include scuba diving equipment, skis and surfboards. Special baggage can be carried free of charge as part of your free checked baggage allowance.

Kiosks open 24 hours prior to departure. Travellers need a booking reference or form of identification and a flight number to check in.

Unaccepted items :
Due to handling complexities there are certain items that British Airlines does not accept as checked baggage:
- Hang-gliders
- Windsurfing boards and sails
- Water skis that exceed the maximum dimensions
- Surfboards that exceed the maximum dimensions
- Kayaks and canoes
- Pole vaults
- Javelins
British Airlines will accept non-motorised bicycles of all dimensions provided they are packed in a recognised bicycle bag.
Diving equipment and golfing equipment will be accepted provided it is packed in a recognised kit bag and does not exceed the maximum dimensions and weight restrictions.
Travelling with firearms :
British Airlines must be notified at least 72 hours before you travel if you are travelling with firearms. Travellers must have the required documentation and licences for your firearms and ammunition. When you travel with firearms and/or ammunition you must be at check-in at least 2 hours before your flight. Each case containing firearms and/or ammunition is subject to a £50 fee each way charge.

The container :
Each animal must be placed in a container that has enough space for the animal to turn about normally while standing. The ventilation openings must be small enough so that paws/nose cannot protrude outside the container, but big enough that they can get enough oxygen. The container must be lockable.
Guide dogs :
British Airlines allows Certified Assistance Dogs for blind, deaf or disabled passengers to travel free of charge in the aircraft cabin on most flights.
Fees :
Charges differ for pets depending on the size of container, weight of your pet and distance being travelled. Additional handling, local government and customs clearance charges may apply.
Pet Travel Services :
It is recommended you use Pet Travel Agent when travelling with domestic pets. Pet Travel Agent takes care of bookings, documentation, veterinary requirements and travel containers. They also arrange for your pet to be collected from your home and delivered at the destination.
