Kulula.com is a lost cost airline based in Bonaero Park, Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa. It operates domestic services to all the major cities and regional services to Namibia, Mauritius, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The name 'kulula' is Zulu for 'it is light' or 'it is easy and simple,easliy'.
South Africa's first low fare airline which aims to make travel more affordable to all. They are one of three low cost domestic carriers operating in South Africa, along with Mango, 1Time and the new low cost carrier Velvet Sky Airlines.
There are also a limited number of international flights to Namibia, Mauritius, Zambia and Zimbabwe.The headquarters of the company are located at Bonaero Park, Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.
It is owned by Comair Limited - listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE); been in aviation for more than 60 years. Voted "South Africa’s biggest online retailer", generating some R3.5million in sales daily - more than any other local website Easy DIY online booking system.
History :
Kulula.com was established in July 2001 and started operations in August of the same year. It is a wholly owned low-cost subsidiary of British Airways franchise Comair and was set up by them as a low coast carrier.
