Baggage :
Economy Class baggage allowance varies based on your destination. Generally, Economy Class travellers will be allowed 1-2 items of checked baggage. Baggage may not exceed 23 kg per piece.
Business Class travellers will be allowed 1-2 items of checked baggage, not exceeding 30-32 kg per piece. If you are travelling with a child under two years old, you may have an additional piece of luggage. It may not exceed 10kg.
You will be required to pay a charge for carriage of baggage in excess of the free baggage allowance.
Children and Infants :
Children and Infants paying at least 50% of the adult fare are entitled to the same allowance as adults. Infant travellers who are not entitled to a seat are permitted 10 kilograms of checked luggage and one collapsible buggy.
Special Items :
SAA allows passengers to traveller with some non-traditional travelling items. Items include scuba diving equipment, skis and surfboards. Special baggage can be carried free of charge as part of your free checked baggage allowance.

In-flight Entertainment :
In-flight entertainment offers everything from the latest music and interactive games, to an endless stream of acclaimed TV shows and documentaries.

Bicycles :
South African Airways requests that bicycles are securely packed in special boxes or bicycle bags. Handlebars must be turned parallel with the frame, pedals removed or turned inward, tires deflated and the seat must be put down.
Firearms :
Passengers who wish to travel with their firearms may do so provided they comply with the policies and procedures. Firearms must be unloaded, ammunition must be securely stored in a lockable container, and the firearm may not exceed 5 kilograms.
